When Vervoordt decided to buy the Kanaal, a complex of warehouses, grain silos and a large round building, on the banks of a nearby canal, he wanted a truly minimalist environment where he could exercise his vision of “limitless spatial purity.”
Brussels is a very interesting city to shop.
Antiques, fashion or design every small , medium and large shop in Brussels has a story to be told. Rather than offering you a traditional shopping guide, ( there are plenty of excellent ones in the market,)
I received the unique opportunity to visit more than fifty interiors of buildings in Brussels gems from the inter-war years, many of which remain relatively unknown. Architectural establishments, splendid private mansions, schools, modest houses, public and industrial buildings, hotels and shops several of which have become part of the ‘UNESCO World Heritage List’ in 2000.
Daniel Ost has been known to travel 900 kilometers to collect the materials for one bouquet. His artistry is in demand by royalty, celebrities, and corporations. His installations, which last only a few days, are extremely costly, but the artistic value is absolutely priceless. I checked the artist floral emporium at Rue Royale,13 in Brussels.

After inaugurating their first three locations (Portland, Seattle, and Palm Springs) from a far, I was psyched to learn the hipster-brand ACE Hotel had finally opened an east coast locale in New York City. Decidedly masculine vibed the hotel should soon be crawled with indie bands.
Two of the most prominent New York Hotels, Andres Balazs’ glamorous Standard and the Ace, the first East Coast outpost of the eminently hip Seattle brand run but Alex Calderwood. Both budget-conscious, they have one aspect in common: husband and wife designers Stephenen Alesh and Robin Standever.
I created an East Village Street Art and Shops Itinerary that has become my Summer Sundays routine ending with a majestic brunch at the legendary Cafe Mogador, definitely my favorite in the trendy neighborhood . Check more than 100 interesting photos.
Because of my gypsy nature I have always been fascinated by the desert. I have just met in Beer Sheva the artist and filmmaker Joseph Dadoune who over several cups of a warm mint tea presented to me a stunning project taking place in the Ofaquim desert involving a local comunity. ” You must be part of this Joelle ! ” He says.
At the age of 6, my parents left me in the lobby of the Haifa Dan Panorama hotel for a little more than an hour, and I needed some time alone …When they came back they found me at the trendy bar recomposed having a cocktail side by side with Omar Sharif.
Every time I stroll around the narrow streets of the Old City I can’t avoid stopping in one of my favorite antique shops in the world. Hamsas, Amber, semiprecious stones and impressive Judaica blow my mind and wallet simultaneously.
