Quality and excellence are products of culture . These are also the characteristics of the “Made in Italy ” big fashion and style brands , protagonists of the “Luxury & Finance ” an elegant evening gala I attended last month , held at the superb Palazzo Crespi in Milan.
The prestigious Italian crowd saw Franca Sozzani , editor of Italian Vogue and L’Uomo Vogue together my long time friend, Raffaele Jerusalmi , CEO of the Italian Stock Exchange, celebrate in Milan – once the city is at the same time capital of the fashion system and of the financial market .
The event , which combined the world of fashion and finance, was organized in closing the exclusive road show promoted by the Italian Stock Exchange in collaboration with Italian Vogue and with the support of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Banca IMI , JP Morgan and Mediobanca.
Among the guests of the evening: Nerio Alessandri, Brunello Cucinelli , Luisa Beccaria , Eva Cavalli, Claudio Costamagna , Silvia Damiani , Marco De Benedetti, Lapo Elkann , Leonardo Etro , Gaetano Marzotto , Luke and Ottovio Jr Missoni, Alberto and Roberta Nagel , Michele Norsa , Diego and Dario Rossetti, Francesca and Remo Ruffini , Maurizio Tamagnini Gruppo Campari, Italian Independent Group, Luxottica, Moleskine, Piquadro, Poltrona Frau, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo, Tod’s and Yoox. Private companies in attendance included Maserati and Stefano Ricci.
The fashion and luxury sector met with international investors at Borsa Italiana’s headquarters, in an exclusive road show held in collaboration with Vogue Italia. The event was attended by both listed and non-listed companies and supported by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Banca IMI, JP Morgan and Mediobanca.
The companies presented their financial results and future strategies to the international financial community, with more than 550 meetings between management and investors organised throughout the roadshow. 88 investment houses from America, Asia and Europe were represented over the two days.

The private 18th century Palazzo the main headquarters for Vogue Italy’s events, is truly sumptuous: The architectural proportions are sumptuous, the stone composition and the geometric wood mosaics parquets are sublime, the austere decor yet welcoming and warm offered the hand-painted ceilings and beautifully dressed in green velvet tablecloths oval tables sitting twelve, delicate white flowers, gold plated silverware , and important 19th century paintings art work were enlightened by large torches at the entrance and candlelights in the drawing rooms rooms .
