Ending March 30, a craft festival brought a silk screened scarf exhibit, leather workers, diamond setters, watch makers, tie makers and other artisans together who demonstrated their skills for the public.
I have learned that It takes 8 hours to stitch the leather handle of a Kelly Bag, and a bit more than 19 hours to produce a christal glass from the time of it’s creation to the store shelf.
It was a wonderful encounter where the craftsmen proudly introduced themselves and their wonderful skills coming sometime from small villages near Paris to a thirsty American public eager to connect further with the crafts legacy of one of the most powerful brands in the world. To facilitate the dialogue , experienced translators were at service in each of the different stations. A great and intelligent showcase! Bravo!
