Founder of Italian fashion label and e-commerce site La DoubleJ, JJ Martin, has brought her iconic kaleidoscopic prints and maximalist designs to the table. In what is seriously good news for print-loving interior aficionados around the world, Italian fashion label and e-commerce site La DoubleJ— best known for its bold prints and mix-and-match aesthetic — has just released a tableware collection.
Dubbed La DoubleJ Housewives, the range of Italian-made linens and dishes is as playful, maximalist, and colourful as the brand’s fashion designs. The designs are the invention of La DoubleJ’s founder and self-confessed print-aholic, J.J. Martin who teamed up with fellow Italian design houses to produce the collections. Martin enlisted the expertise of ceramic masters, Bitossi Home and linen producer, Mascioni.
From 18th-century peacock illustrations to intricate flower motifs, this statement collection was made for lovers of prints and vivid hues. “I’ve always had a really fun, maximalist table,” Martin tells Architectural Digest. “For me, more is always more.” The collection features a set of porcelain and bone china dinner, dessert and soup plates alongside 100% linen tablecloths, placemats and napkins printed with vintage patterns that are the same ones Martin has used in her clothing line so, if you fancy, you can match your dress with your tablecloth. Now that’s one way to impress your guests.
