One of Manhattan’s favorite Italian eateries, Il Buco, is offering foodies and skiers a unique opportunity this winter to travel with its staff to Courchevel 1850 in the French Alps for a food-and-wine getaway. From January through March, Il Buco owner Donna Lennard and her husband, Luca Boniciolli, who is a private ski guide, will host groups of eight to 12 people in private chalets for one-week vacations that combine skiing, food, wine, and other activities.
Boniciolli will lead ski excursions through the Trois Vallées of Courchevel or join guests on a helicopter ride to Chamonix to ski the Vallée Blanche’ while back at the resort, Il Buco’s head chefs and wine directors will prepare made-to-order meals, teach private cooking classes, and lead wine tastings in guests’ chalets.
The Il Buco team also will arrange other optional activities such as private yoga classes and spa treatments. The group has secured several chalets, and each five- to six-bedroom home has a fireplace, a kitchen, and balconies overlooking the Bellecôte glacier and Dent du Villard. Select accommodations may also include a swimming pool, a steam room, a fitness room, a media room, and more. Prices start at about $5,100, depending on the guest’s selection of accommodations and activities. ( ROBB REPORT)
